Audi-O…get it?

Audi meets audio…who doesn’t love a good pun? Especially when it is as good looking as this iPod inspired Audi designed by Ondrej Jirec, a design student from the Czech Republic. His concept Audi design takes the great American past time of making your vehicle into one giant rolling boombox to new heights. This bad boy features the mother of all audio systems with internet connectivity for downloading music onto the built-in 650 GB hard drive, a Bluetooth system for connecting two or more Audi O cars together, making for the largest rolling club ever. Best yet, it comes completely decked out with a couple of DJ decks and mixer. Look for this master blaster in the next installment of The Fast and the Furious Deaf Jam.

Flat, black and all that

Since Apple’s iPhone was such a runaway success, the entire mobile phone industry has been playing catch-up with the pocket wonder. Jonathan Ive’s (Apple’s Chief of Design) minimal flat black screen design has instantly become a gadget icon and seems to be the inevitable future of mobile phone designs for everyone looking to grab market share.

Projection Mobile Phones

It’s getting there, day by day, closer and closer. It’s only a matter of time before mobile projection technology makes its way into the mass market. This concept by Stefano Casanova is a Windows based mobile phone that can project your desktop to an flat surface. The micro light projector is actually integrated into the LCD so in order to activate it, you have to flip the screen down. Conceptual but interesting.

Sagem Totch Makes Cordless Hot Again

It’s not often that we see concept designs for cordless phones but this little gem by Erik Arlen almost makes me want to hook up an old fashion land line again. The Sagem Totch Phone takes some inspiration from its mobile cousins but throws in a cool docking stand for good measure. The phone itself hangs from two arms vertically or flat on a surface making it easy to grab as soon as that call comes in. Sure, the concept isn’t exactly cutting edge in terms of tech but sometimes going back to the basics is a good thing.

Rosendahl’s Watch III by Flemming Bo Hansen

When you cut away all the frills, it is hard to imagine how any watch could fail to resemble Rosendahl’s Watch III, designed by Flemming Bo Hansen. The watch case, clock face and strap form a complete entity. No digressions; no convolutions. A complete unit, almost like a deep black stroke of genius on your wrist, with only one function: to tell you the time. And, perhaps, to look good, too…
