After the launch of Chevrolet Beat and Ford Figo in the first half of 2010, the Indian auto market now awaits its new batch of cars. Kicking off the second half of 2010, Nissan will launch its small car Micra in first week of July. This will be the first small car model from Nissan in India and has been especially developed on V-platform designed for the emerging markets. Nissan is building the car at its brand new manufacturing unit at Chennai.

Honda and Toyota are in neck to neck in competition to bring their small car hatchback models in the Indian market. Toyota has already announced that the Toyota Etios is expected to be introduced by December 2010. Honda has yet not confirmed the model name or its launch date.
Tata Motors intends to launch its new model Aria in the Indian market but as always it remains tight lipped about everything about the model. “Evolution” will be introduced by Hindustan Motors in India by December 2010. The car may lend much need boost to its sales figures in the country.
Volkswagen introduced Polo earlier this year and the car has a waiting period of minimum three months. Now Volkswagen is planning to bring its sedan model Vento in the Indian market. It recently revealed its sketch for the Indian customers. VW has not revealed technical specifications or final launch details of the new sedan. The car is expected to give a run for the money to Honda City or Maruti SX4.

Suzuki is known for its small cars in India but Kizashi is the next big thing it is planning for the Indian market. The car is expected to be launched by December 2010 or early 2011. It will be imported as a completely built unit from Japan. Suzuki has already launched the model in the Japanese and the American market where it has been extremely successful.
BMW, Mercedes are already having a neck to neck competition in the Indian market to bag the most coveted numero uno place. Audi is not far behind and will bring its new A8 model in the country soon. It will compete with BMW 7-series and Mercedes S-class models in the country.
